The Hellenic Operational Research Society (HELORS) and The University of Thessaly are honored to invite you to the 3rd International Symposium and 25th National Conference on Operational Research which will be held at the University of Thessaly, Volos on June 26-28, 2014.


The purpose of the Conference is to disseminate recent scientific advances in the filed of Operational Research and Management Science in Greece and to promote international co-operation among researchers and practitioners working in the field. The specific aim of this year’s Conference is to highlight the importance of Operational Research on the interrelated application areas of transportation, energy and the environment.

  1. The Abstracts submitted and approved for presentation will be included in the Book of abstracts that will be distributed at the beginning of the Conference. 
  2. The papers to be presented in the conference will be included after review in the Book of proceedings, in electronic format with official ISBN. The papers should be written in English, be no more than 5 pages, be compatible with the relevant format and be submitted by July 31, 2014 to the following e-mail address: ConferenceEEEE@gmail.com 
  3. In addition, selected papers will be considered for publication, following the usual journal review procedures in Special Issues of the international scientific journals:

    • Operational Research, An International Journal
    • International Journal of Operations Research and Information Systems
The papers that will be submitted for publication in the above journals should be written in English and in accordance with the policy of the Editor. In order for a paper to be included in the Book of Papers or be considered for publication in a Special Issue at least one of the authors must have participated in the Conference.
